TotalEnergies BWF World Championship

Men’s singles second seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will not participate at next week’s TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The world No.2 is mourning the loss of his mother Lucia Sriati, who passed away on 9 August.

Ginting’s absence was confirmed by PBSI on its social media accounts.

Coach Irwansyah said: “He could not appear at the World Championships because he’s still mourning his beloved Mama.”

Ginting was slated to face Ukrainian Danylo Bosniuk, who now progresses to the second round.

BWF extends its deepest condolences to Ginting and his family.

Stay strong, Anthony.
